Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Skilled Repairs Operative for the Sutton Housing Partnership. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including fencing, bricklaying, paving, tarmac, and concrete works. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out groundworks and repairs in accordance with project requirements.
- Install and repair fencing systems.
- Perform bricklaying tasks for maintenance and construction projects.
- Lay paving stones and slabs for pathways and patios.
- Apply tarmac to roads and driveways ensuring a smooth finish.
- Conduct concrete works, mixing, pouring, and finishing to a high standard.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS: Must possess a current Enhanced DBS check.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in groundworks or a related field.
- References: Able to provide 2 years of work references.
- Skills: Proficient in fencing, bricklaying, paving, tarmac, and concrete works.
- Physical Fitness: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks and lifting heavy materials.
- Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team environment.
